I haven’t always been the biggest fan of wintergreen. I had a bad experience with it in when I was 18 (which was the legal age here at the time), when I first tried wintergreen dip. Over the years, it’s been a flavor I’ve generally avoided. But, since I got a farm I’ve found I use it more. I’m not sure why, but for some reason when I’m outdoors, I’ve been enjoying this flavor more and more. Today, we’re checking out one such flavor: Oden’s Wintergreen Extreme Slim White Dry.
Ever since this one launched in 2016, it’s proven to be quite popular. They also have other variants of their “Pure Wintergreen” flavor, including an original portion version (22mg/portion), and a large white dry version (17.6mg/portion). This one isn’t quite as strong, which I’ll talk about shortly. So, if you’re ready to dive into the wintergreen world with me, let’s get into it!

The flavor description for this one says, “a taste of wintergreen”. Opening the can, I counted 20 portions. The can weight in total is 13 grams. That means each pouch is going to weigh 0.65 grams each. The nicotine strength may say “extreme”, and sit at 22mg/g in total, but that pouch weight brings it down quite a bit. 22mg/g actually becomes 14.3mg/portion. So, it may say it’s an “extreme”, in total, but it’s actually just at the strong level in terms of how much nicotine you get per portion.
Opening the can, the aroma that comes through is a pretty direct aroma of wintergreen. It’s milder in nature, but still has good presence. It’s lightly sweet in nature, but not overly sweet. The portions come in the slim white dry format, so they’re going to be a little dryer than you average white portion. They feel comfortable under the upper lip, and have a gradual release of flavor. In the flavor profile, it’s a pretty straightforward, direct flavor of wintergreen.
It’s mild, gently sweet, and has a subtle presence of tobacco in the background. The nicotine strength is also pretty decent. It may sound like a lot up front, but it actually delivers right around the strong mark. So, it feels stronger than your regular strength, but it’s not too much. The flavor lasts quite a while with this one, too. The white dry format yields a slower release and longer lifespan, so you can enjoy these for well over an hour, sometimes up to the 1.5 hour mark!
Snubie’s Final Thoughts
All in all this was a pretty good product! There aren’t a lot of wintergreen flavors out there, so if you’re into this sort of thing your options are pretty limited. But, this is a pretty good one. If you want one with a milder experience, I think you’re going to be quite satisfied here, especially if you’re looking for one with more kick to it!
